Media release - Accelleron signs 50th Turbo MarineCare agreement as ship operators favor fixed-cost service plan
  • Milestone shows growing demand for comprehensive service coverage
  • Operators opt for fixed costs, full warranty and ease of doing business
  • Full equipment health visibility through assessment of operational data

Accelleron has marked a major milestone in its smartly enabled service offering for turbochargers on two-stroke marine engines, signing its fiftieth Turbo MarineCare contract. The long-term service agreement model delivers all-inclusive, fixed-price service with a continuous warranty between major overhauls, helping operators keep control of costs and ensure optimal turbocharger operations.

Turbo MarineCare was designed to give financial predictability and peace of mind to ship operators. As well as including the costs of the major overhaul—either at dry dock or in port where possible—the fixed price covers, throughout the contract duration, labor and standard as well as unexpected spare parts, always using original Accelleron parts and service experts.

Turbo MarineCare is a smartly enabled service that enables full visibility on equipment health, using an expert-in-the-loop digital solution. Through Accelleron’s LOREKA portal, operational data already available on the vessel is analyzed to monitor turbocharger status and to provide operators with optimization and maintenance recommendations. This data also allows an Accelleron technician to remotely check on the status of a turbocharger, replacing the need to carry out an intermediate inspection.

The fiftieth contract signals a growing trend for ship operators to seek full-cover service agreements. One such customer is Laskaridis Maritime, which signed a Turbo MarineCare contract with Accelleron in October.

Laskaridis Maritime S.A. Technical Manager Marios Maroulis, said:

“The full‑cover model removes uncertainty from turbocharger maintenance, one fixed fee, original Accelleron parts, and continuous warranty backed by data‑driven insights. It simplifies our planning and keeps our fleet operating reliably.”

Accelleron Head of Service Agreements Maurice Peterli said:

“This milestone highlights how ship operators are increasingly looking for service support that goes beyond original spare parts and experienced engineers. Based on full visibility of turbocharger health, Turbo MarineCare provides continuous warranty that guarantees optimal turbocharger condition from the moment a vessel undergoes a major overhaul right through to the next one. Using Accelleron’s combination of technical expertise and digital know-how, we are delivering operational peace of mind and cost predictability for ship operators.”
