Accelleron and Hyundai Heavy Industries Engine & Machinery Division celebrate 40-year partnership

Accelleron and leading engine builder Hyundai Heavy Industries Engine & Machinery Division (HHI-EMD) have reaffirmed their continued cooperation on the fortieth anniversary of their long-standing license agreement. The collaboration has been instrumental in driving innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in the marine and power industries worldwide since 1984.
Accelleron turbocharging solutions have powered the vast majority of two-stroke engines built under license by HHI-EMD across the agreement duration to date, during which time the engine builder has delivered around 200 million horsepower. The partnership has driven continuous advancements in engine efficiency over the decades, giving engine operators the flexibility to generate greater power and optimize installations while meeting increasingly stringent environmental regulations.
This collaboration has deepened over the years, as the mutual trust has grown, resulting in several other collaborations, such as the first service agreement signed in 2004, the long-term digital agreement in December 2020, and in June of this year, the successful joint implementation of an Engine Part Load Optimization (EPLO) project.
